hey all i thought to enter this just to get the bashing.....
i went up eagle mountain with a buddy. He in his ford ranger and i in my yota we went up the hard line and i'll tell you!!! man what a change from 2 weekends ago. i had to bow my head in shame to get to the top because
i had to be pulled out just before the top of the first part of the trail (just before the log going across the trail) man i was ashamed to be there.so now i'm home no damage and i'm going to rip some parts out of my truck (snicker) it in my opinion is not passable for stockers now and even if you did just a few changes to your rig i have 2"leaf lift and 30" tires will not try again until the 31" go on and i lift just a little bit more even the ranger had it's moments but made it himself (tverbaan) but over all had a great day up there and to the unimog A HUGE HUGE THANKS FOR THE TUG WITH OUT YOU I WOULD BE STILL THEREwith my boy!!!!

DONT TRY unless you know you can make it. it would be safer not tooooo

now let the bashing begin!!! it's alright

Ah, theres no shame in hooking up the strap, it happens to everyone. That first hill is claiming a few victims lately, I high centered on one of those rocks a few weeks ago(still getting used to the axle
and the rocks were wet...ya thats it) and it took a jeep and a sammy linked together to pull me off it.

hey if you got those banana skins off your truck you would have made it up. Time to go to the tire shop and change some tires and try again with out the sway bar. Let me know when we go.

I went up the first hill about a week ago. I didn't bother to air down or disconnect and I had a hell of a time. I wasn't serious about going up to far so I just backed down after bouncing my Jeep off one obstacle. It didn't help that I tried the harder line on the obstacle.

Disconnecting your sway bar alows your front suspension to drop a little further and rise a little further. There for increasing your flex ability and allow your tires to remain on the ground where they may have normally lifted..

oh ya, also, is it ok to drive everyday, with it disconected or do ya just do it when you get to a trail, or at home, just when yer goin for an hour drive? whats the deal there???

You can, however you may find that your steering will react different in extreme cases. I have a yj with it taken right out, on the other hand I don't drive fast or stupid..

Also I do not know how the xj's will differ from the yj...
