have a set of stock 5 spoke aluminumn jeep rims with 33x12.50x15 mud kings on them that have to much back spacing on them. at full lock they rub on the lower controll arm. what i want to know is what is a good set of cheep after market rims that have less backspacing on them? any ideas

American Racing 767 black steel "rock crawlers".

$70.00 each, avaliable in 4.75" or 4" backspacing.

4.75" on an 8" wheel is usually used on mildly lifted Jeeps. This would move the tire out exactly 1" compared to stock Jeep 7" wheels.

thanks chris those are exactly the rims i was thinking of. i will probably have to go with the 4" off set with the 33's. now i just need to come up with the cash and then sell the aluminum jeep rims

4" backspacing will take your tires out so far that they will not stuff into the fenders. If you have (or will) trimmed your fenders to the max then this is not as big a problem.

My advice is to ask around and see if a fellow Jeeper with 767s and 33s will let you bolt his rims to your XJ for an afternoon and see how you like the backspacing.

Do you have pics?

sorry no pics but they are the aluminum 5 spoke ones that you see on YJ's.
