a friend of mine wants to put 33x12.5x15 tires on his F150. will they rub? how much lift would be needed to avoid the rub and would you suggest a body or spring lift?

Hey if you dont have the cash for a full suspension lift, you can buy 2" levelling coils for the front....call a 4x4 shop..They lift the truck 2" in the front so it sits level...cause usually the back sits higher

Yes, 33's will rub. A body lift will solve the tire clearance but give you no more frame, susupension clearance to the ground and will cost less than $200. A suspension lift goes up from there.

i disagree, those tires will fit just fine, i ran that exact same size tire on my bronco with no problems, and the ass end of an f150 is probably even higher than a bronc!

33x12.5x15 will rub on 80-96 F150's unless some sort of lift goes in...how ever if you are one of the lucky ones out there with a pre 80's f150 you will have no problems!

I belive a two inch body lift will alloy enough room to body components. then a bumper kit to raise it with the body and will also have to be installed so the tires wont rub it. they might still rub the radius arms, but with the proper wheel backspacing they wont. then fender flares will need to be installed to make the vehicle legal, and mud flaps too!!!!

Me and my buddy have 96-f 150's. we both have the 2" leveling kits in our trucks. I have a procomp and he has a black diamond. I have 33x9.5's and the fit just great. My buddy has 33x12.5's and he had to make a spacer to move the bumper forward about an inch to clear the 33x12.5's. We both got our kits at 4offroad for about 300$. they are easy to insatll. Any other questions just email me. Dont go for the body lift.
