I am going to swap the entire engine, tranny, t-case, etc. from a 92 HO XJ into a 88 non-HO XJ. I want to keep all the associated HO stuff i.e. computer etc. Does anyone know if the plugs are the same when it comes to light harnesses, dash harnesses, power stuff, etc.? It'd be nice is I could just plug the existing 88 XJ stuff into the new 92 XJ computer etc.

I put my H.O. into two different xj's, one was originaly a 2.8 and the other was a 2.5. One of them the light harness fit, and the other it didn't. One of them the fuel tank plugs were the same, the other one wasn't. I swapped the entire dash harness etc the first time. The second time I was too lazy and only swapped what I had to.

In my opinion it would be just easier to hack the 4.0 harness to create a standalone fuel management system and then keep the rest of the jeep the way it is.
