Hey everyone!
I have a 1990 stock YJ.
I just today bought:

6cyl fuel injected engine
transmission (hooped)
Transfer case
4" Black Diamond Lift
Extra set of D30/35

Now, I need to get this 6cyl in my Jeep (I have a 4 now.)

What is the best way to go about this without taking everything to a mechanic and getting chanrged $25454756756.07 ?
I dont have any of the tools or anything, but Id like to somehow do this cheap...

Thanks!!!

Holy cow.

The honest answer to that is, get to know someone locally in the 4x4 community and ask for help. The island4x4 guys are a good crowd, and if you're lucky someone who knows Jeeps will walk you through the project.

With no tools (do you even have a garage to do this in, and some mechanical experience?), this is going to be a BIG deal. Swapping a 6-cyl in place of a 4-cyl requires rewelding the frame motor mounts, plus a bunch of parts that you may not have. Driveshafts, radiator, wiring harnesses, all kinds of crap.

Most people start off with smaller projects when they get into 4x4s, like a lift kit

Good luck (and I mean that)
Chris
