i have replaced a few at work and a couple at home and i just put the seal in. did not use any sealant or silicon. never had a come back, so i suggest just putting the seal in.

I wouldn't silicon it the seal should be plenty this way if you go wheelin and the windshield gets to muddy you can always fold it down....

I generally fold mine down anyway just in case. I lost the windshield and bent the hell out of frame last time I rolled it.. That's the only thing that got hurt besides some scrapes in the paint....

ok replaced the seal in the fold down area seems great no more wet foot but their's still a wack load of water getting into the heater core case wich when turning left splashes ice cold water onto the boiling hot heater core in turn getting an instantanious steam bath all over the windows so anyone else have this problem and what did you find...please help thanx...Clint

HAH I knew I'd get to be helpful one day
, I had this a while back ... Inside the engine bay, against the firewall on the passenger side of the engine is a long black tube (
) It's the drain for the cowl vent and has a pinch valve at the bottom to let water out ... cut that valve off then clean the crap out (or just pinch the valve open and empty all the leaves and crap out and have it happen again later) haven't had a wet foot in two years!
